We had discussed
visiting Dachau concentration camp today, but the overcast skies combined
with the grimness of that endeavour persuaded us otherwise. Instead we
took a leisurely drive to Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

01) MUNICH | Early
morning.

02) NEAR SOLNHOFN | Sr.
& Jr. Witzel in search of fossils (they didn't find any).

03) NEAR SOLNHOFN | They're
very persistent.
| |

04) ROTHENBURG OB DER TAUBER | The
most romantic of the surviving medieval villages. |
|

05) ROTHENBURG OB DER TAUBER | People
ask me, "Is there a story behind this photo?" Hope springs...
| |

06) ROTHENBURG OB DER TAUBER | Ivy
problem? What ivy problem?! |
|
| |

07) ROTHENBURG OB DER TAUBER | The
town is very much alive with people living and working within the
walls. |
|

08) ROTHENBURG OB DER TAUBER | A
view from the garden.
| |

09) ROTHENBURG OB DER TAUBER | Another
view from the garden (the river [Tauber] is just off to the right
in the little valley). |
|

10) ROTHENBURG OB DER TAUBER | Yet
another view from the gardern. Every time I see this shot I'm reminded
that "Buttercup was raised on a small farm, in the country of
Florin..."

11) ROTHENBURG OB DER TAUBER | Dusk.

12) ROTHENBURG OB DER TAUBER | Still
dusk.

13) ROTHENBURG OB DER TAUBER | Night.
The Rathaus is lit up.

14) ROTHENBURG OB DER TAUBER | The
"money shot." Of special importance to me is this location [Plönlein
& Siebers Tower], as growing up my mom had a skectch of it hanging
in our house.
