Saludos, Amigos!
The following forty or so pages represent a trip I took during the fall of 2000. This was my first time out of the country - if you don't count a 2-day band trip to Victoria, B.C. in 1988 (I don't!).
I had long wanted to visit Europe and north Africa, but never had the means. My employer at the time, sponsored a yearly travel scholarship which I had entered and won. I based my itinerary (at left) partly on my entry and partly on places that I wanted to visit. I thought I'd have no trouble at all in attracting a friend or two to join me, but as it turned out, everyone I asked was either busy, broke, or otherwise unable to come along. Fortunately, my former roomate (I'll call him Eron - 'cos it's his name), had taken up residence in my starting country (The Netherlands) and was able to show me around for the first few days of my little excursion.

I was supposed to fly out from Portland on Delta (via Atlanta) on September 20th and arrive in Amsterdam at 8am the next day. However, since Delta doesn't know how to run their airline, I got passed off to United, who took me as far as Washington D.C. before passing me off to Air France ... who took me to Paris.
