Chott el-Gharsa, near Tozeur

Description: Mos Espa into the desert with Tozeur. The white towers are vaporators, not rocket launchers, as often assumed.

Footnote: the boards on the ground on the right side of the picture is a broken down building (new for Episode 2).


Description: Behind the facade of the set of Mos Espa in the proximity of Tozeur.

Footnote: this is the small set used in Episode 1 when Anakin repaired his podracer. It is not seen in Episode 2.


Chott el-Jerid, near Nefta

Description: The repair dome from the outside.

Footnote: you can see that the entrance mechanism has been broken away.


Description: Looking much like an Eskimo Igloo, another part of the homeland of Owen and Beru Lars, with the sun setting over the Sahara inn the background. Constructed from wood and plaster.


Description: At the home of Owen and Beru Lars from air

Footnote: the centre of the dome has been destroyed since this picture was taken.


Description: At the home of Owen and Beru Lars (on the salt lake Chott el-Jerid). Wood construction. Under this roof hatch Luke Skywalker cleaned R2-D2.

Footnote: the damaged roof panel has been replaced, but it is still loose. The three vague humps in the middle of the picture are vehicles on the Nefta-Algeria road.
