Maximus walks the emperor back to his horse, pausing to acknowledge the adulation of his men.

This takes place at the foot of a small 'canyon' leading into the clearing to the right of the hill.

"Have I missed it?" asks Commodus as he arrives by horse.

This is the reverse view from the foot of the canyon.
Most of the scenery is obscured by soldiers, but this is where Commodus dismounts and approaches his father.
