Quick question on the following photo...

...is the location in Death Valley or Tunisia? Anyone know?

Also, I'm looking for a better version of this image.

My first reaction was that it is Tunisia but I'm not positive.

I thought that flowing rock behind the Jawa's head would give it away but you can see similar type formations in both Tunisia and
Death Valley.

I've seen nothing like it in the Star Wars Canyon, though who's to say part of the scenery could be fake (like The English Patient cave entrance in Star Wars Canyon). A cave big enough for 2? My guess would be Death Valley.

There is a little about that image on T-Bone's site, where it mentions a version of it in a book called "Industrial Light and Magic: The Art of Special Effects."

Hi there -

It's me again... I was wondering if anyone knows what the better time of day is to photograph the scenery in Death Valley? Earlier in the day, or closer to sunset? I would think the mid-afternoon to sunset might be better?

It is a long drive out there and I want to make sure I hit it at the right time.

Hi Brady,

There was some discussion about the best times for photography in this thread:

There are a few clues in this for Dante's View and Stovepipe Wells

In my experience there's no such thing as luck.
